Carys

Carys, age 69 from Hawridge had suffered with scoliosis and had both hips replaced during 2017 at a local hospital. But even after the hip surgery, Carys was still in pain and it was particularly sore below the hip joint. The surgery seemed to have aggravated something.

Carys could no longer do gardening, and when she was shopping in London, she had to use a stick. The gym was totally out of the question. Carys was starting to feel really depressed as she was not getting any better and in July 2019, she decided to see her GP.

Her GP, in Chorleywood, recommended that she went privately to see Mr Vedi as the long NHS waiting list meant she would not be seen until January 2020. Mr Vedi examined Carys thoroughly and explained she could either have steroid injections or have a PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injection – the latter only likely to be effective with 75% of people. Carys felt desperate so she went ahead and had the PRP injection done in mid-October, under general anaesthetic.

Carys went home later that day feeling bright and perky and not in any pain. She couldn’t drive until three days later but the following week she was able to go and meet a friend in London feeling so much better.

Carys comments, “I would definitely recommend Mr Vedi as he is so charming, pleasant and approachable. He is completely honest and straightforward - telling you both sides of the story – the good and the bad, so you can make your own informed decision. Thanks to Mr Vedi, I have my life back – and am more positive about what the future holds. I can now sleep well on either side, something I really struggled with – particularly on my right side. I can enjoy my aquafit classes which are so much easier and more comfortable to do now - and I can garden once again and play with my one-year old grand-daughter – two of my absolute passions.”
