After struggling with arthritis with my large toe joints on both feet, I was limited as to which shoes, I could wear that did not cause pain as well as being in a lot of discomfort after playing any sport.
I was referred to Mr Vedi who was very approachable. I explained that I was quite active training 4-5 times per week, walking the dog as well as playing squash, tennis, and skiing – I had put off seeing anyone for a few years as the thought of not being able to continue with my sport was forcing me to be in pain rather than risk not being able to continue being active.
I decided to go for it and have both feet done at the same time being a bilateral Bunionectomy and Cheilectomy and debridement.
I was nervous right up to the point of having the surgery, at no point was I under any pressure to have surgery and Mr Vedi put me very much at ease.
I needn’t have had any concerns whatsoever.
Recovery time has been so much quicker than I had expected or been advised by friends or friends of friends who all had an opinion. I really did not experience much pain. From the day of the operation, I was in less discomfort than I was pre operation.
I am happy to be wearing normal shoes again.
My sincere thanks to Mr Vedi
~By - ACAfter Mr Vikas Vedi performed a total left hip replacement in March 2017
After Mr Vikas Vedi performed a total left hip replacement in March 2017, I had no hesitation in going back to see him regarding my other hip. I have always found Mr Vedi courteous, friendly, matter-of-fact and very clear in instructions. His support staff at Bishopswood, his secretary, nurses, physios etc. were always kind and helpful. My 3-nights’ stay was excellent (if worked hard by the physios!) I am now six months after my right hip replacement and back to walking, gardening and (possibly) sailing (and I have got my spring back!).
I would unhesitatingly recommend anyone with hip problems to go straight to Mr Vedi.

I first met Mr.Vedi many years ago when he diagnosed my arthritis in my hips. Knowing one day the time would come when i'd need a complete hip replacement, the reassuring advice and information over the years helped prepare me for the inevitable operation that would follow, and he was there every step of the way pre and post op answering my queries, and making me feel comfortable and reassured about the whole process, which can understandably be a daunting one. I had the hip replacement surgery done by Mr,Vedi and I have absolutely no regrets, the physical recovery was fine, the physio treatment first class and it's given me a new lease of life. Here's to many pain free years ahead...it's the best decision i made~By - RSFollowing my sign off after the second hip replacement I feel that I should express my appreciation for your efforts on my behalf.
Following my sign off after the second hip replacement I feel that I should express my appreciation for your efforts on my behalf. Prior to the operations I was somewhat apprehensive when contemplating what was in my view a major event. I was delighted when the whole process proved to be so smooth and uneventful. I would never have believed that the recovery process could be as relatively easy and pain-free as it was.
All the staff at the hospital were so friendly and supportive at all points. Your calm and clear information approach was very reassuring at all times and acted with considerable empathy. I now have full confidence in what I can do again in the way of physical exercise which will no doubt be very beneficial for my general health.
Thus I am very grateful and wish you all the best in the future.

I was lucky to have had a total left hip replacement carried out by Mr Vedi in February 2022. He showed great professionalism, treated me with respect and dignity throughout my stay in hospital and follow-up appointments. 6 months later I feel so well, have good mobility and can sleep well. Things I couldn't do or have beforehand. His support team shows the same level of care and understanding. Nothing was too much for them to do for me. I am so grateful
